Giles Etherington, Cultural Enterprise Office’s Industry Associate for Brand & Branding, recently ran a Brand Creation Workshop at the CEO’s offices in Glasgow.
The sold-out event was attended by 14 creative businesses and entrepreneurs, looking to turn their business into a successful brand.
Giles talked about the 3 stages he believes are needed to help turn your business into a successful brand:
– Brand Creation
– Brand Development
– Brand Communication.
Using breakaway discussions and interactive tasks, the attendees were asked to think about their business in a different way – as a brand.

Giles Etherington is owner of a brand consultancy called Brand Satellite, which offers brand creation, brand development and brand communication services to a range of clients throughout the UK.
He has 30 years’ experience working in advertising and design agencies, from the world’s largest agency network to his own one-man business. Most of this time has been in London, San Francisco and Amsterdam.
Today, Giles applies his knowledge of the principles and importance of branding to help SMEs who have either never approached their business as a brand before, or are not making the most of the brand they have.
Giles has recently launched Brands Start Here, a 1-2-1 brand advice service aimed at start-ups, entrepreneurs and small businesses.
